In-Person and Remote Services

While I prefer in-person sessions, many clients prefer Telehealth. If you prefer Telehealth, we will meet through a secure portal with your computer, laptop, iPad, or smart phone (Android or Apple). I provide a very easy online experience that is seamless and convenient.

During online sessions, you will need to keep your camera on throughout the session. Facial expressions, body language, and other visual cues are a very important part of the therapy process.

Services Provided

PSYCHOTHERAPY

For those of you looking for traditional therapy or who plan to utilize insurance, I would need to be licensed in your state. Currently, I am licensed only in Texas, but I plan on expanding my licensure base in the near future.

COACHING/CONSULTING

Coaching sessions are good for people who do not plan to use insurance to cover or reimburse them, and/or live in a state outside my licensed jurisdictions. Coaching or consultation sessions provide the freedom to use treatment how you'd like without the regulations and restrictions that each state and insurance company implements. This also helps the Provider use broader tools to better serve the Client.

The Process

For each person the process is different, but in general an individual starting therapy or counseling with me will see me at the same time and day every week for at least the first two months. After that time, we reevaluate and assess if every-other week sessions will suffice. If someone comes in with extreme distress, twice weekly sessions might be more appropriate to start.

After the person feels they are more in control of their behaviors and emotions, and have a better understanding of their situation/circumstances, and enough tools in their tool box, we can move to "maintenance" sessions (typically once a month) or end treatment all together.

Much of the skills used in treatment are from CBT, DBT, ACT, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, and a variety of other methods and theories. I do not follow any regimented curriculum. Tools are given based on stressors and need. Processing through pain, trauma, anxiety, fears, and confusion are key to helping one discover themself and accept their reality.

There is no time limit with treatment; you just have to be willing to do the work. I will not put in more work than you for your life, but I'll be by your side pushing you, guiding you, and lending some professional advice while being empathetic to the things you have no control over.

What To Expect

I provide a free 30-minute consultation to all new clients. Once you book, I will send an email with documents I need filled out before we meet. This provides me some information about you and allows you to sign certain consents for our session.

The consultation gives me a brief explanation as to why you decided to seek therapy or counseling at this time in your life. More importantly, it allows you to evaluate me. It's a time for you to see if my approach to therapy aligns with your approach to life.

If we are online, make sure you're in a quiet and safe place when we meet, so you can talk freely. Also, double check to make sure your internet connection is optimal. You can use your smart phone, iPad, laptop or computer, but you must be able and willing to keep your camera on.  You will receive an email reminder about 48 hours before our appointment time and you will get a link to our session about 10 minutes before we meet.

If you have questions, please contact me.

I have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. With Thrizer, you will only have to pay your co-insurance for our sessions, instead of paying my full fee and waiting for reimbursements. This can save you on average 70% upfront on our sessions.

During our intake process, I can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your co-insurance would be.
